instantlessonplan.ai is an AI-powered lesson planning tool built for educators. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and maintaining transparency about how we handle data.

2. What data we collect

When you create an account and use instantlessonplan.ai, we collect:

• Your email address (for account creation and login)
• Lesson plans you generate and save
• Account preferences and lesson defaults you set
• Usage counts (lessons generated, section rewrites) to enforce free tier limits
• Subscription and billing information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card data)

3. What we do not collect

We do not collect:

• Any student names, grades, IEP records, or personally identifiable student information
• Browsing history or tracking data beyond basic usage counts
• Data from third-party sources

4. How we use your data

We use your data solely to:

• Provide and improve the instantlessonplan.ai service
• Manage your account and subscription
• Enforce free tier usage limits
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your lesson content to train AI models.

5. AI and lesson generation

Lesson generation is powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o mini model. Prompts you submit (subject, grade, objective, standards) are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Please review OpenAI's privacy policy for details on how they handle API data.

6. Data storage and security

Your account data and saved lessons are stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL database). Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment information.

7. FERPA

Since instantlessonplan.ai does not collect or process any student education records, FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) obligations do not apply to our service. We are a teacher-facing tool only.

8. Your rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon verified request, we will permanently delete your account, saved lessons, and profile data within 30 days.

9. Cookies

We use minimal session storage (localStorage) to maintain your login state. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
